Foundation Academy Seminar

The Alpha Psi of Theta Xi Foundation proudly announces its Academy Seminar, to be held on Saturday, February 28. This professional skills–building seminar will feature three learning modules designed to help members further develop essential leadership, career, and life skills.

Module 1: Leadership
Presented by Kevin Geraci of Theta Xi National Fraternity, this session will focus on leadership principles and best practices, followed by an interactive activity that reinforces key leadership concepts.

Module 2: Networking and Interviewing Skills
Presented by Sara Hathaway, Missouri S&T Director of Career Opportunities and Employer Relations (COER), this module will cover effective networking and interviewing techniques. The session will take place on campus and will utilize the COER offices for mock interviews following the presentation. This module is especially timely, as it follows the Spring Career Fair and builds upon Sara’s fall presentations to the chapter on career fair preparation and resume development.

Module 3: Fire Safety and Prevention
Presented by Craig Findley, Foundation Academy Director and volunteer firefighter, this module will address fire safety and prevention practices relevant to the Chapter House. The session will also include hands-on fire extinguisher training, giving each participant the opportunity to properly use and discharge a fire extinguisher in a simulated fire scenario.

The Foundation looks forward to hosting the Spring Academy Seminar and continuing to build and reinforce the skills our members need as they develop into responsible adults.

People see what we have, who we are, and they want to be a part of it. We work together, laugh together, and even cry together—it’s special to be part of something bigger than yourself.”
